Speaker of the National Assembly Terminates Gurgen Arsenyan's Parliamentary Powers
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, has signed a document terminating the parliamentary powers of Gurgen Arsenyan.
“Based on the application for resignation submitted by the member of parliament and guided by the requirements of Article 154, Part 1, Clause 6, and Article 155, Part 2, Clause 2 of the Constitutional Law on the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the parliamentary powers of Gurgen Arsenyan, who was elected on the national electoral list of the ‘Civil Contract’ party, are hereby considered terminated,” the document signed by the Speaker of the National Assembly states.
It is noteworthy that Gurgen Arsenyan is set to be appointed as the ambassador to the Russian Federation, replacing Vagharshak Harutyunyan in that role.
