Elina Avanesyan Unable to Advance to Main Draw of WTA-1000 Tournament

The world’s 58th-ranked tennis player, Elina Avanesyan, was unable to advance to the main draw of the WTA-1000 tournament held in Cincinnati, USA. In the qualifying final, the Armenian representative faced Britain's Harriet Dart, ranked 78th in the world, and lost with a score of 6-4, 6-1.

In the men’s competition, Armenian tennis player Karen Khachanov, ranked 22nd globally, started his campaign with a convincing victory. The Russian representative eliminated the world’s 28th-ranked Francisco Cerundolo with a score of 6-0, 6-3. Khachanov will compete in the next round against Germany's fourth-ranked player, Alexander Zverev.
