Brazil Declares Mourning: Armenia Expresses Condolences

The leader of Brazil, Luiz Inácio da Silva, has declared a three-day mourning period in memory of the victims of a plane crash near the city of Vinhado. A passenger aircraft, carrying 61 people, crashed on Friday.

“In memory of the 61 victims of the tragic incident in Vinhedo, we are declaring an official three-day mourning period in the country,” Lula wrote.

According to the announcement, it takes effect from the moment of publication. It is noted that the Voepass ATR-72 aircraft was on a flight from Cascavel (Paraná state) to Guarulhos (São Paulo), carrying 57 passengers and 4 crew members. The aircraft crashed near the city of Vinhedo. All individuals on board perished. The causes of the crash remain unknown.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has also expressed condolences to Brazil regarding the plane crash that occurred on August 9 in São Paulo state.

“Armenia stands in solidarity with Brazil, which mourns the loss of 61 passengers and crew members due to the plane crash in São Paulo state. We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims,” stated the Armenian Foreign Ministry in a message on its X microblog.
