Iran Warns Israel to Expect a Decisive and Brutal Response
Ali Bagheri Kani, the acting foreign minister of Iran, has warned that Israel will bear responsibility for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement's political bureau in Tehran.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry cited Bagheri Kani's remarks during talks with Jordanian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Tehran. “Israel must receive a decisive and brutal response so that it realizes that brutal behavior will have serious consequences in the field of security,” he said.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, that Iran had refused to soften its reaction to Haniyeh's assassination and intended to respond to the Jewish state. It was also noted that Israel is preparing for a “multi-faceted attack” from Iran and Hezbollah.
