Iran Declares They Do Not Desire Escalation

Tehran is striving for stability in the Middle East and does not wish for escalation, but at the same time is determined to punish the aggressor to prevent further instability. This statement was made by the official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani.

"No one should doubt our determination to punish the aggressor and create a deterrent against the reckless behavior of the Zionist regime," he stated.

Kanaani emphasized that the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh is a gross violation of the norms of international law and the political customs respected by the international community.

"We stress that we, as the Islamic Republic of Iran, consider our right to defend our national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity as decisive and unwavering," he said.

According to the Iranian official, the world must condemn this crime. He reiterated that Iran has the right to punish the aggressor within the framework of international law.
