Turkish Foreign Minister Calls on World to Join Case Against Israel

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has urged the entire world to join the proceedings against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague regarding the complaint filed by the Palestinian Authority. He made this announcement while speaking to reporters in Istanbul.

"The whole world must unite in the case of genocide against Israel. All those who unconditionally support Israel are complicit in the crimes committed by it in Gaza. The crimes in Gaza will not go unpunished; sooner or later, those who have committed them must answer for their actions," said the Turkish minister.

On August 7, Turkey lodged a complaint with the court in The Hague to join the proceedings against Israel. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has previously referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "war criminal," emphasizing the need to hold him accountable for crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The Republic of South Africa has also filed a lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague on December 29, 2023. In its petition, the South African side demands that the actions of Israeli authorities in Gaza be classified as genocide, as they are carried out with the "specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza."
