IAEA Says No Concerns Over Nuclear Safety at Kursk Amid Ukraine Strikes

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) currently sees no cause for concern regarding nuclear safety at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in light of strikes by Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region.

"The IAEA is following reports of recent events and has communication channels available to both sides of the conflict. At this time, there are no reasons to be worried about nuclear and physical safety," the agency's press service informed TASS.

The agency also noted that IAEA Director Rafael Grossi deems any armed attack on a nuclear power plant unacceptable. It is worth recalling that earlier reports indicated that fighting is ongoing approximately 30 kilometers away from Kurchatov, where the nuclear plant is located.
