Hamas's New Leader Interested in Deal with Israel Before Iran's Attack, Media Reports
Julya
The new head of the Palestinian Hamas movement's political bureau, Yahya Sinwar, has expressed interest in reaching a ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages with Israel, before tensions escalate with Iran. This was reported by Israel's Channel 12, citing Hamas sources.
Sinwar has sent a message to Hamas leaders who are outside the Gaza Strip, urging the Palestinian movement to negotiate with the Israeli side to halt military operations in the enclave before a potential assault by Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah on Israel.
It is noted that the new leader of the movement does not have good relations with Tehran and is facing significant pressure from Hamas's military leadership.
