It should be noted that World Champion and three-time European Champion Malhas Amoyan earned a spectacular victory, winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. In the Greco-Roman wrestling Olympic competition on August 7, Amoyan, competing in the 77 kg weight category, faced Aram Vardanyan, a silver medalist at the World Championship and a bronze medalist at the Asian Championship, representing Uzbekistan, and won with a score of 6:5.

At the start of the match, the competitors embraced each other before beginning the bout. In the first round, Amoyan scored one point by pushing Vardanyan out of the ring.
