US and EU Suspension of Financial Aid Will Not Affect Georgian Citizens, Official Says
The suspension of financial aid by the US and the EU will not have an impact on Georgian citizens, stated Irakli Kadagishvili, the head of the Georgian Parliament's Procedural Issues and Rules Committee.
"I can only say one thing, unfortunately, this aid primarily served Americans and Europeans who remain here; this assistance does not directly affect our citizens, government operations, pensions, salaries, healthcare, defense, or other sectors," Kadagishvili said, adding that American and Western aid has been directed towards funding their own programs and staff of their organizations.
