Vladimir Kara-Murza Accuses Putin of Responsibility for the Assassinations of Navalny and Nemtsov

Russian President Vladimir Putin bears personal responsibility for the assassinations of political figures Alexei Navalny and Boris Nemtsov, stated Vladimir Kara-Murza during a press conference in Bonn at the Deutsche Welle office, following a prisoner exchange between the Russian Federation and the West.

"What happened to Alexei Navalny clearly and horrifically shows that what is called a prisoner exchange saves lives. It’s hard for me not to think that perhaps if some processes had moved faster, it would have been very good for Alexei to be alive and free..." he remarked.

According to him, Vladimir Putin is personally responsible for the deaths of Alexei Navalny and Boris Nemtsov. "Today, Russia is not just under an authoritarian regime; it is dominated by a murderous regime," he said.

"As a Christian, I know that Putin will certainly answer for his actions at the most important trial. But I really want to live to see the moment when he answers for his crimes in an ordinary court," Kara-Murza added.

The press conference in Bonn features political figures Ilya Yashin, Vladimir Kara-Murza, and Andrey Pivovarov, who were released from Russian captivity on August 1 as a result of the prisoner exchange between Russia and Western countries.

As part of the exchange, Russia handed over 16 prisoners to Germany and the United States in return for eight Russians accused or convicted of espionage, collaborating with Russian intelligence services, and cybercrimes in Western countries.
