Tom Cruise to Participate in the Closing Ceremony of Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Jumping with a Parachute

Tom Cruise will attend the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled for August 11. Reports suggest he may parachute to the Hollywood Sign to deliver the Olympic flag to Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympic Games. According to TMZ, the stunt was filmed back in March.

The show behind Los Angeles is produced by Fulwell 73, which will blend pre-recorded and live elements.

As reported by Hollywood Reporter, the initial plan included a grand event at Will Rogers State Beach for the flag handover. However, it was canceled due to concerns from the Los Angeles police regarding long-term closures of Pacific Coast Highway and issues with obtaining necessary permits from the California Coastal Commission.

Cruise has been attending the Paris Games, including the women’s artistic gymnastics qualifiers and swimming events. “It has been amazing,” he told Reuters. “Great stories, great athletes. It’s incredible what they have to do.”

The closing and flag transfer ceremonies of the Olympic Games have always served as a stage for performances by notable personalities. In 2008, in Beijing, Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis famously performed Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” on a mock bus heading to London.
