Paris 2024: Armenian Boxer Davit Chaloyan to Compete in Second Bout
Armenian boxer Davit Chaloyan will compete in his second bout as part of the Armenian Olympic team on August 2 (or August 3 at 00:24 Yerevan time). According to reports from Armenpress, the quarter-finals will take place in the northern arena of Paris, where Chaloyan will face Ayoub Gadfan, the current champion of the European Championship from Spain. A victory would secure Chaloyan a place in the semi-finals, ensuring at least a bronze medal.
The bout is set to begin shortly after midnight Yerevan time, at 00:24. In his opening match, Chaloyan competed against Ori Delishesh from Great Britain, winning with a score of 3:2.
The Armenian Olympic team is represented by 15 athletes, including gymnasts Arthur Davtyan and Vahagn Davtyan, who have reached the finals. The finals for the pole vault and ring exercises will take place on August 4. Shooter Elmira Karapetyan and swimmers Varsenik Manucharyan and Arthur Barsghyan did not advance past the qualification rounds and concluded their appearances at the Olympic Games.
