Prisoner Exchange Between Russia and Western Countries Mediated by Turkey
A large-scale prisoner exchange has taken place between the West and Russia at Ankara’s international airport. This is reported by Reuters, referencing the Turkish Presidential Office.
According to the source, a total of 26 individuals were exchanged. This marks the largest exchange of its kind since the end of the Cold War.
According to the Turkish side, Vadim Krasikov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a German court for the murder of former Chechen field commander Zelimkhan Khangoshvili in Berlin in 2019, will be returned to Russia.
It is noteworthy that the White House has announced that among those exchanged are journalist Alsu Kurmasheva and politician Kara-Murza.
