Landslides in India Claim More Than 80 Lives
The death toll from landslides in the Indian state of Kerala has reached 84, with over 250 people rescued. According to reports from Indian media, this information has been confirmed by authorities.
In response to the tragedy, officials have declared a period of mourning on July 30-31. Many local residents are reported missing.
The landslides in the southern region were triggered by heavy rainfall, severely affecting villages in the Kerala district. The ongoing floods have complicated rescue operations.
"We are trying to help our people," stated Kerala's Health Minister Veena George.
