Explosion at Chemical Plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany; 14 Injured
An explosion occurred at the largest chemical plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, owned by BASF. This was reported by RIA Novosti, referencing the German publication Bild.
Bild detailed that a fire erupted following the explosion, which has since been extinguished. "As a precaution, 14 employees sustained minor injuries and were transported to the plant's polyclinic," the publication stated.
City authorities and firefighters issued warnings about the danger related to the release of burning materials into the air. The causes of the incident are still unknown.
