New Details Emerge from Tragic Accident Near 'Harsnakar' Restaurant
Today, on July 29, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 12:50 PM, a Mercedes truck ran over three pedestrians on Acharian Street, adjacent to the 'Harsnakar' restaurant complex.
According to eyewitness reports from the scene shared by photojournalist shamshyan.com, the driver did not flee the scene, and two of the pedestrians died on the spot, while one was taken to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center.
A team of doctors from Yerevan's emergency services arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of two pedestrians, administering first aid to the other before transporting them to the hospital.
The patrol officers from the second battalion's third squad of the Yerevan Police Department, led by Commander Andranik Isakhanyan, Deputy Commander Levon Manukyan, Battalion Commander Arsen Stepanyan, and Deputy Battalion Commander David Nikoghosyan, also responded to the incident.
Information regarding the incident has been transferred to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Yerevan City Investigative Department, specifically the traffic accident investigation division, which dispatched an investigative team led by Division Head Gor Aloyan, Deputy Heads Arthur Adamyan and Grigor Avetisyan, along with investigator Narek Petrosyan.
A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department, which will ascertain the identities of the driver, the deceased, and the injured victims.
Those gathered at the scene indicated that the deceased were a married couple, and the injured person was their son.
