Medvedev Calls Olympic Opening Ceremony in Paris a 'Pathetic Spectacle'
Lilit T.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, referred to the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris as a "pathetic spectacle." This was reported by TASS.
“I don’t even want to say anything about the Paris Olympics—it’s a pathetic spectacle. Remember the Sochi Olympics or the World Cup, which were brilliantly held in our country,” Medvedev stated.
As reported earlier this week, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, indicated that the opening of the competitions in the French capital had passed with a "massive failure."
