The Shirak Regional Department of the RA Police and the Akhuryan Division have received operational information indicating that yesterday, on July 26, the driver of a BMW X3 vehicle involved in a tragic accident in Lori Province, 41-year-old Armen Tonoyan, a resident of Shirak Province, fled while being transported to the Gyumri Medical Center and left the state border of Armenia.

According to shamshyan.com, it has been confirmed that the operational information is accurate, and he managed to cross the Armenian border in a short time. In the vehicle he was driving, a substance resembling drugs was found in the right side of the front passenger seat.

At the time of the accident, 45-year-old Andranik Avagyan, also a resident of Shirak Province, was with him. Police took Avagyan to the Akhuryan Division, where he stated that the substance resembling drugs found inside the car belonged to him and he had kept it for personal use.

Documents regarding the discovery of the drugs have been prepared at the Akhuryan Division and presented to the Shirak Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

According to sources, the driver of the BMW X3 is a hairdresser. It is noteworthy that as a result of the tragic accident that occurred yesterday, a young couple and their 7-year-old son lost their lives.
