Video: State Revenue Committee Prevents Attempt to Import Concealed Pharmaceuticals

The customs service and monitoring department of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) continues its fight against the illegal transportation of goods across the Armenian state border.

Recently, a GAZ brand auto-trailer operated by a citizen of the Republic of Armenia arrived at the Bagratashen customs point. During weighing, when asked by the customs officer whether there were any goods subject to declaration in the trailer, the citizen responded negatively. However, the customs officer had suspicions that the vehicle was carrying concealed goods that were not declared for customs control.

The vehicle was directed to an X-ray inspection station, where a suspicious image was detected during the X-ray monitoring. The auto-trailer was sent for a thorough inspection and subjected to customs examination, resulting in the discovery of a total of 61 kg of pharmaceuticals and empty pharmaceutical boxes from specially prepared secret compartments within the vehicle.

A report was prepared regarding the customs violations based on Article 313 of the Law on Customs Regulation of the Republic of Armenia, according to the SRC's statement.
