Vietnam's Communist Party General Secretary Passes Away
Vietnam's ruling Communist Party Central Committee General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has passed away. This was reported by the Nhan Dan newspaper.
The General Secretary, who was 81 years old, died in a military hospital after a long illness, despite the efforts of the country's leading doctors.
The date and place of Nguyen Phu Trong's farewell ceremony have not been disclosed.
The political figure served as the President of Vietnam from 2018 to 2021 and has led the Communist Party of the country since 2011.
