Babayan Aims to Participate in Elections: 'Hraparak'
According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', a closed meeting was held a few days ago at the Artsakh representation with the initiative of President Samvel Shahramanyan, attended by representatives of the Artsakh political elite. Among those present were the leaders of parliamentary forces and factions, as well as certain representatives of the executive body. The goal of the meeting was to address the issue of unity among the people of Artsakh, catalyzed by the recent infiltration of security service representatives into the representation and the seizure of Shahramanyan's vehicle.
Shahramanyan urged compatriots to show unity regardless of political disagreements, emphasizing that today he is the target of the authorities, but tomorrow any of those present could find themselves in a similar situation. This message was particularly directed at Samvel Babayan, the leader of the 'United Homeland' party, who, during his speech, claimed that they had not been adequately informed about the situation by their political force, and he leveled counter-accusations, stating that if they were united, they would not have sidelined his party.
He then declared that in the near future, to bring the idea of unity to life, he would take active steps. The attendees understood that Samvel Babayan intends to participate in the upcoming political processes in Armenia, including the elections, under the banner of the unity of the people of Artsakh.
