Aliyev Again Discusses Necessity of Constitutional Changes in Armenia
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the United Kingdom, stated that Baku supports a peace agenda, the prompt signing of a peace treaty with Armenia, and the overall process of establishing peace. Azerbaijani media report this.
“However, for that, it is first necessary that the provisions in the Armenian Constitution that contain claims against Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, which imply the unification of Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh region (occupied Artsakh Republic) with Armenia, are changed,” said Aliyev.
He asserted that “the territorial claims of Armenia against Azerbaijan must be put to an end on constitutional grounds.”
