Shooting in a Sevan Resort Area: Casualties and Victims Reported

On July 17, a shooting incident occurred in the Gegharkunik Province, resulting in a murder and an attempted murder. Around 22:00, operational information was received by the criminal police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the Gegharkunik regional police department, and the Sevan police station that gunfire had erupted at the "Best Western Bohemian Resort" in the Sevan administrative area along the Yerevan-Sevan highway, and there were injuries.

According to shamshyan.com, before the police arrived at the scene, the Sevan medical center received a report that a team of emergency doctors had transported three individuals with gunshot wounds.

Police and investigators found spent cartridges, bullets, and blood-like traces in the courtyard of the resort complex, and a handgun was discovered in one of the rooms. As forensic experts were working at the crime scene, police and investigators determined that the injured individuals, 37-year-old Arsen Afiyan from Gegharkunik Province, 41-year-old Edgar Afiyan from Kotayk Province, and 56-year-old Aghasi Aloyan from Gegharkunik Province, had been transported to the Sevan medical center.

Hours later, the Sevan police department received another report from the hospital, stating that A. Afiyan had died without regaining consciousness. Sources indicate that the gunfire followed a dispute that escalated into violence. The deceased, A. Afiyan, was a well-known dentist in Sevan, and police managed to apprehend several participants in the incident, including Levon Banduryan, son of notorious criminal Ara Banduryan from Noratus.
