PHOTOS: Iron Sheet on Gas Pipeline, Tree on Electric Wires - Aftermath of Yesterday's Winds
On July 17th, at 22:19, the National Crisis Management Center received an emergency call regarding a strong wind that had torn the roof off a house near the 11th street of Noragavit, Yerevan, and it had fallen onto a gas pipeline; assistance from rescuers was required.
A firefighting team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was promptly dispatched to the scene. It was found that the iron sheet had indeed been dislodged and had fallen onto the gas pipeline, causing damage and a gas leak.
The rescuers removed the iron sheet, measuring 50 square meters. Employees of the gas emergency service halted the gas leak.
On the same day at 22:28, another emergency call was received at the National Crisis Management Center, reporting that a tree had fallen onto electric wires due to strong winds near a house on the 8th street of Noragavit, Yerevan. A firefighting unit and an aerial ladder from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to address the situation.
The rescuers undertook the dismantling of the fallen tree.
