Contraband of Drug-Like Substances Prevented at Sevan Penitentiary
The Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service reports that on July 17, at approximately 11:55 AM, security personnel from the Sevan penitentiary conducted a search on a package brought in for inmate M.G. using specialized technical equipment.
As a result of the thorough inspection, the officers discovered that inside a factory-packaged tea box, there were black, viscous substances resembling a plant mixture, contained in polyethylene bags, totaling 244 grams. Additionally, they found 40.9 grams of a dry, black, plant-like substance.
The citizen who brought the package, G.A., was arrested by operational officers and presented, along with the discovered substances, to the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
