Can Baku and Yerevan Establish Diplomatic Relations? - 'Hraparak'
The authorities promising a new era of peace have repeatedly stated since 2020 that the signing of a peace treaty is imminent. However, official Baku has no intention of signing any document that would limit its territorial and other claims against Armenia. This is reported by the newspaper 'Hraparak'.
After obtaining the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' with the backing of the West in the coming months, Aliyev will attempt to impose an interim document on Armenia regarding the alignment of certain principles of communication between the two countries, which would imply the establishment of diplomatic relations.
This is actively disseminated on Azerbaijani platforms, which specify that Armenia and Azerbaijan could initially have embassies in Tbilisi, where they would discuss and reach agreements on these principles. However, judging by the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, it can be said that Azerbaijan will do everything possible to impose all of its demands—under the guise of principles—in a direct meeting, without intermediaries, upon Yerevan,” the newspaper writes.
