Earthquake Recorded in Georgia Felt in Yerevan
On July 17, at 06:09 local time (02:09 GMT), the seismic protection territorial service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 at geographical coordinates of 41.48° north latitude and 45.87° east longitude, located 30 km south of the city of Gurjaani, Georgia, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the underground tremors in the epicentral zone was measured at 5-6 points. The earthquake was felt in the Tavush region, in the cities of Vanadzor, Spitak, and Alaverdi in the Lori region at 3-4 points, 3 points in the Gegharkunik region, and 3 points in the cities of Hrazdan and Charentsavan in the Kotayk region, as well as 2 points in Yerevan.
