WHO Appoints New Representative in Armenia

The World Health Organization (WHO) has appointed a new representative in Armenia. Anahit Avanesyan welcomed the newly appointed head of the WHO office in Armenia, Sidartha Dattat, expressing hope that the office would operate more systematically with his experience, leading to a new phase of cooperation with the organization.

"The healthcare system in Armenia is undergoing a transformation. WHO and other partners play a significant role in supporting these reforms with their expertise and organizational assistance. I will personally ensure that all points of our joint agenda receive solutions," said Avanesyan.

Sidartha Dattat emphasized that the mission of WHO is to support the country's health agenda. As a key area of cooperation, he highlighted the need for support in primary healthcare reform and aligning quality with international standards. He stated that WHO is also ready to mobilize resources to assist Armenia in addressing mental health care needs.

The two sides discussed upcoming activities and meetings, reaching agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation.
