Iran Planned to Assassinate Trump: CNN

The U.S. Secret Service had previously increased security measures for former President Donald Trump after reports emerged about Iran’s plans to eliminate the political figure, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing sources.

“Many people familiar with the matter told CNN that U.S. authorities received information about Iran’s plans to assassinate Donald Trump in recent weeks, after which the Secret Service bolstered security measures around the former president,” the network stated.

“Sources indicate that there is no indication that Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attempted to assassinate the former president in Pennsylvania on Saturday, is linked to this conspiracy,” CNN clarified.
