VIDEO: Trump Appears in Public for the First Time After Assassination Attempt

Former U.S. President Donald Trump took the stage before delegates at the Republican National Convention, marking his first public appearance following an assassination attempt. His ear was bandaged.

Trump addressed the delegates after it was announced that he is the party's nominee for President of the United States. It is important to recall that on July 13, Trump had to interrupt a public speech in Pennsylvania due to gunfire. Video footage shows security personnel holding his ear with their hands. It was later revealed that he had been shot in the ear and lost a significant amount of blood.

The U.S. Secret Service reported that they killed the suspect who fired several shots towards the stage. One audience member was killed as a result of the shooting, and two others were seriously injured.

It was subsequently announced that an assassination attempt had been made on Trump, but the identity and motives of the suspect were not disclosed. Local media reports indicated that the suspect is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania. Reports state that he had been hiding on the roof of a production building located about 100 meters from the stage.
