Ukraine Plans to End Military Operations and Start Negotiations with Russia: Media
Ukrainian authorities intend to cease military operations through peaceful negotiations with Russia. This was reported by The New York Times.
According to the publication, the country's leadership is working on a plan that will allow it to halt the conflict with Russia. Observers believe that this intention is reflected in President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent statements.
Earlier, he expressed the view that the presence of Russian representatives is essential for the second summit on the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. On July 15, Zelensky stated that Russian representatives should participate in the second conference aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict, and preparations for this summit should be completed by November.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov declared that the Kremlin still does not understand what measures Zelensky intends to refer to. Kyiv’s initiative led to a conference in Burgenstock on June 15-16 regarding Ukraine.
The final communiqué of the conference was not signed by Armenia, Bahrain, Brazil, the Vatican, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Colombia, Libya, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the PRC. Russia was not invited to Burgenstock, and delegations from most UN member states were also absent. As noted by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the conference has turned into a complete fiasco.
