Trump Explains What Saved His Life

US presidential candidate Donald Trump has given his first interview after a failed assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, asserting that he "should presumably be dead." According to the political figure, what likely saved his life was the fact that he "turned his head to the right towards the screen for a moment."

"I rarely take my eyes off the crowd. If I had acted the same way at that moment (not turning my gaze), we wouldn’t be talking today, right? The most incredible thing was not only that I turned, but that I turned at precisely the right moment and to the right degree. If I had only turned halfway, the bullet would have hit the back of my brain and passed through my skull. And since the screen was high, I looked up. The probability of making a perfect turn was very small, so I shouldn’t be here; I should be dead," Trump told the New York Post.

He added that the sniper made a single shot that killed Thomas Matthew Krooks, who had attempted his murder, "right between the eyes." Then Trump praised the speed of the Secret Service and security personnel. "They did a fantastic job," he added.

According to Trump, "the agents grabbed him so hard and took him to the ground that his shoes came off." It should be noted that during a rally with supporters in Pennsylvania, a failed assassination attempt was made on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Shots were fired, after which he fell; Secret Service agents covered the former president with their bodies. After the assassination attempt, Trump was taken to the hospital, and his life is not in danger. According to the FBI, the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Krooks, has been neutralized. The motive for his actions is currently unknown. Law enforcement agencies have begun an investigation into the incident.

US President Joe Biden condemned the assassination attempt on Trump. "I’m glad to hear he’s safe and doing well. I am praying for him and his family. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for saving him. There is no place for such violence in America. Our nation must unite in condemning this," Biden said in his message.
