"The Repetition of History is Inevitable" - Peskov
Europe is now at risk of collapse. This statement was made by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia. His remarks were quoted by RIA Novosti.
“For this reason, the repetition of history is inevitable in various configurations,” he said to journalist Pavel Zarubin, commenting on the deployment of American missiles in Europe and the fact that the previous confrontation ended with the collapse of the USSR.
Peskov reminded that such a paradoxical situation has always existed: America has deployed missiles in Europe, and Russia has made its missiles targets for its own missiles.
“It’s a paradoxical situation: America continues to make money, Europe is in the crosshairs of our missiles, and our country is in the crosshairs of American missiles in Europe. We have already gone through this. All of this has already happened,” he said.
Earlier, the Pentagon announced that the US would deploy long-range strike systems in Germany in 2026, significantly exceeding the existing weapons in Europe. This specifically includes SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles and “hypersonic weapons.”
