Joe Biden's Response to Attempted Assassination of Trump

U.S. President Joe Biden has addressed the issue of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in a special message directed to the nation. The President emphasized the unacceptability of turning politics into a "battlefield." During his speech from the Oval Office, Biden stated that political passions have reached a point where "it is time for them to calm down," stressing that violence should not become the norm in the United States.

The leader noted that political tensions in the country have "heated up" as the November elections approach. The assassination attempt on the Republican candidate occurred during his campaign rally on Saturday, where the politician sustained injuries to his ear and was removed from the event by his security team. Trump reported that he had lost a significant amount of blood, but he has since been released from the hospital after treatment.

The assailant managed to fire several shots toward the stage before being apprehended. The suspect is identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania. He had hidden on the roof of an industrial building, approximately one hundred meters away from the stage, outside the area where the event was taking place. The incident also resulted in the death of a rally attendee, and two others were seriously injured.
