Edita
Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran has resumed operations, according to a statement from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In March 2024, it was announced that Tehran and Baku had reached an agreement regarding the return of Azerbaijani diplomats to Iran. The issue was discussed during a meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his then-Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The operation of Azerbaijan's embassy in Tehran was suspended on January 27, 2023, following an armed attack on the diplomatic mission that resulted in the death of a security staff member and injuries to two others.
