Were Mistakes Made in Securing Trump's Safety? Who Was the Attempted Assailant?
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has successfully identified the individual suspected of an assassination attempt against Donald Trump. He is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, according to Reuters.
Reports indicate that the FBI considers him a participant in the assassination attempt. Crooks, originally from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was registered as a Republican according to voter rolls.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States has announced that airspace over Bethel Park has been closed immediately, as reported by Reuters.
However, American authorities are still unable to clearly determine whether serious mistakes were made in securing the safety of former President Donald Trump. This was stated on Saturday during a press conference by FBI agent Kevin Rojek.
“We will not be making such assessments at this time; much work remains to be done to evaluate what failures occurred, if any,” he said.
The New York Police Department has heightened security measures at Trump Tower in Manhattan and other notable locations in New York City following the assassination attempt against former President and presidential candidate Donald Trump, as reported by CBS News.
