Russia and the US are in a phase of sharp confrontation with no signs of resolution, says Dmitry Peskov

Russia and the United States are in a deep phase of confrontation, and there are currently no signs of a way out. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

“We are now in a deep confrontation, a sharp phase of confrontation. There are no signs yet of any way to get out of this loop. But one day that time will come,” Peskov said.

According to Peskov, it is possible that Russia and the US will find common ground, but at present, military diplomats are mainly working on this issue.

Peskov is confident that the time will come when diplomatic expertise will be needed to resolve “the Augean stables.”

Dmitry Peskov also warned that Russia has sufficient capabilities to respond to the deployment of American long-range missiles in Europe, but in this case, the potential casualties would be European capitals.

“There has always been a paradoxical situation—the US has deployed various types of missiles with different ranges, but typically targeted at our country, accordingly, European sites are considered targets for our missiles,” Peskov stated.

“It’s a paradoxical situation: America continues to make money, Europe is under the threat of our missiles, while our country is in the crosshairs of American missiles located in Europe. We have already gone through this. All of this has happened before,” warned the Kremlin representative.
