Maria Zakharova on Assassination Attempts Against Trump and Putin
The United States needs to reconsider its policy of sowing hatred against political opponents, countries, and peoples. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, on her Telegram channel while commenting on the assassination attempt against former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zakharova emphasized that instead of funding the Ukrainian authorities, Americans should have used that money to support their own police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure rule of law within the United States.
“One of the leaders of the Kyiv administration, Budanov, openly admitted that Ukrainian intelligence was preparing assassination attempts against the President of Russia. Thus, this assassination attempt was once again being prepared with American funds. By massively financing and supplying weapons unchecked, Washington has created a terrorist structure in Ukraine—the Kyiv regime,” Zakharova declared.
It is noteworthy that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, stated: “Assassination attempts against Putin have been made, but all have been unsuccessful.”
Additionally, an assassination attempt was carried out against the former U.S. president on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a campaign speech. The politician was injured in the ear region. Subsequently, the U.S. Secret Service reported that the suspect, who had fired several shots toward the stage, was neutralized. One audience member was killed as a result of the shooting, and two others were seriously injured. The shooter was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
