Hungary Reveals Whom They Associate with the 'Peace Opportunity' Between Russia and Ukraine
Hungary has discussed the 'peace opportunity' between Russia and Ukraine. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó referred to the potential victory of Donald Trump in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections as a 'peace opportunity' for Russia and Ukraine. His comments were reported by Reuters.
According to Szijjártó, 'a very strong external influence' is required on the conflicting parties to compel them to sit at the negotiation table. 'Who has the opportunity to do this in the near future? It is only President Trump if elected. We see a chance for peace if President Trump wins. We see an opportunity for good relations between Hungary and the U.S. if President Trump is elected,' he stated.
Previously, Péter Szijjártó had expressed that the continuation of NATO and EU's current strategies towards Ukraine would lead to the escalation of the conflict and the country's destruction. Szijjártó remarked that the Western countries' policy regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict 'has yielded no results, as the situation worsens.'
Earlier, the EU had sought to hold a meeting to discuss Hungary's 'violations.'
