NATO Secretary General's Response to Russian Missile Attacks
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg condemned the missile attacks by Russia on Ukrainian cities that took place on Monday. He made this statement upon arriving at the Pentagon for a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, as reported by European Pravda.
Stoltenberg delivered remarks ahead of the NATO summit scheduled to take place in Washington from July 9-11. “Russia continues its brutal war in Ukraine. Just today, we witnessed horrific missile attacks on Ukrainian cities that killed innocent civilians, including children. I condemn these horrific attacks,” he stated.
The Secretary General added that the upcoming summit in Washington would determine further strengthening of support for Ukraine. “And Russia must understand that it cannot wait us out. They must come to the negotiating table and make a decision in which Ukraine will prevail as a sovereign independent state,” Stoltenberg said.
It is noteworthy that the U.S. supports investigating the attack on Okhmatdyt as a war crime by the Russian Federation.
