Orban to Visit Washington After China
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced his upcoming visit to Washington immediately following his trip to Beijing. "The next stop is Washington," the Prime Minister posted on Instagram (which is banned in Russia, owned by the Meta corporation considered extremist in the country).
The NATO summit will take place in Washington from July 9-11, marking the 75th anniversary of the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in 1949. The discussions will address the creation of a new framework in Wiesbaden aimed at supporting Kyiv and establishing a "bridge to NATO" for Ukraine, enabling it to join the alliance when there is political will.
Earlier on July 5, Orban visited Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss potential pathways for resolving the conflict in Ukraine and initiating peace negotiations. After Moscow, the Prime Minister flew to Beijing to meet with President Xi Jinping. Prior to his visit to Russia, Orban had a discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on July 2 regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
