VIDEO: Riots in Turkey as Syrian Man Allegedly Rapes 6-Year-Old Girl
Riots involving migrants have erupted in Kayseri, Turkey. According to Turkish media reports, the unrest was sparked by news that a Syrian man allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl.
Local residents took to the streets to protest, demanding the expulsion of migrants. They chanted the slogan “Erdogan, resign,” expressing their discontent with the Turkish government's migration policy.
The protests quickly escalated into riots, with demonstrators attacking migrants, vandalizing and setting fire to the homes, shops, and vehicles of Syrians.
Authorities in Kayseri have reportedly brought in additional police forces and special equipment to prevent further unrest. Efforts were made to disperse the rioters using water cannon.
The governor of Kayseri and the head of the police department attempted to calm the crowd, assuring them that those responsible for the rape of the 6-year-old girl would be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
