VIDEO: Attempt to Import Over 100 Mobile Phones Concealed from Customs Control Prevented, Says CBA
The Customs Control and Supervision Department of the State Revenue Committee (CBA) continues its relentless fight against the illegal transportation of contraband across the Armenian state border.
Recently, a light passenger vehicle driven by Russian citizen A.M. arrived at the Bagratashen border point. When asked by a customs officer if there were any goods subject to declaration in the vehicle, the driver responded negatively. However, customs officials had their suspicions, and the vehicle was subjected to an in-depth inspection.
The car underwent customs visual inspection and examination, resulting in the discovery of a total of 109 mobile phones of the "REDMI" and "SAMSUNG GALAXY" models found in a specially prepared hiding place beneath the rear seat, extending towards the trunk.
In connection with the incident, the customs officials initiated the appropriate administrative proceedings. The cargo, which constitutes a violation of customs regulations, has been seized. The case involves the characteristics outlined in Article 313 of the Law on Customs Regulation of the Republic of Armenia.
