We Are Deeply Saddened by the News: Armenian Foreign Ministry Issues Statement

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the terrorist attacks that took place in Derbent and Makhachkala, claiming the lives of innocent people. We extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased. We categorically condemn terrorism in all its forms,” the statement published on X reads.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is reminded that on June 23, armed militants attacked two Orthodox churches, a synagogue, and a traffic police checkpoint in Derbent and Makhachkala. Criminal cases have been initiated in connection with the terrorist incidents. According to the latest data, more than 15 police officers have been killed, as well as several civilians, including a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church. Several attackers have been neutralized. Search and investigative measures continue.
