Russia Responds to Grigoryan's Statement that Russia Handed Over Artsakh to Azerbaijan
Russia has not "transferred" Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Azerbaijan, and the statement made by Armenia's Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan is absolutely false. This was stated by Grigory Karasin, head of the Federation Council’s Committee on International Affairs, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“This absolutely does not correspond to reality. We can see the statements and speeches of Armenian political figures, including those of the highest leadership. The answers to these issues are contained within those statements. Those records are well-known, let him read them,” said Karasin.
Earlier, Grigoryan told reporters that Russia had taken Artsakh from Armenia and returned it to Azerbaijan. According to him, this occurred at a time when Armenia was fully dependent on Russia. The Security Council Secretary also stated that without Russia's permission, a war in the region would not have occurred.
