Body of Soldier Found with Gunshot Wound to Head: Investigative Committee Details

On June 14, 2024, the Armenian Ministry of Defense's Sisian division received a report about a contractual soldier,armen Gurgeni Gasparyan, found dead at approximately 08:20 that day in a combat position of the Ministry of Defense’s N military unit. The soldier had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

In relation to this incident, the Military Investigative Main Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia initiated a criminal case under the relevant part of Article 155 of the Criminal Code. Immediate investigative and procedural actions have been undertaken, including an examination of the scene and the body.

To clarify significant circumstances related to the criminal proceeding, several expert examinations have been ordered, and a pre-trial investigation is underway. Necessary measures are being taken to fully elucidate the circumstances of the case.
