Wife of Citizen Injured by Grenade Near Parliament Shares Details About Husband's Condition

On June 12, a citizen named Yesayi was injured by a grenade thrown by the police, and his wife has shared details about her husband's condition. "His condition is stable, but his right hand has been seriously damaged. The doctors initially thought they might have to amputate his wrist entirely, but later they tried to save his palm and managed to reattach two fingers. How functional it will be restored is still unclear. His left hand is also injured, particularly in the palm area. The wound is large, but it should not affect the functionality of the hand. He has shrapnel injuries all over his body, from head to toe, including burns. The injuries on his chest and arm are relatively deep and have been stitched up. Despite everything, Yesayi is a strong man and will live and create even without his right hand."

Regarding why he picked up the grenade, she stated, "Several grenades exploded nearby; at that moment, he thought he was retrieving a piece of the exploded grenade to remove it from under people’s feet. You’ve seen the footage, it’s obvious he wasn’t in a hurry. The claims by certain ridiculous figures in the government that he was throwing grenades towards the police are simply disgusting. Let’s not forget who threw that grenade. The grenade was thrown by the POLICE on the orders and encouragement of this government. It would have been better if he didn’t try to pick it up. But in chaos, when grenades are exploding by your side, it’s hard to think clearly at that moment.”

“Whatever you wish for my husband and my family, may you receive it tenfold. If you wish good, receive good; if you wish bad, receive bad. Naturally, I am not referring to the insults from the clowns of Nikol’s regime. People have been so brainwashed and zombified that at one point, they even called for protesters who were injured not to be given medical assistance. Discussing this is merely a waste of time.”

“There has been no response or visit from the Office of the Human Rights Defender. We didn’t expect one because today’s HRD is essentially a defender of Nikol’s rights. Just as the police have been armed and strengthened with the sole purpose of maintaining the current government, the HRD operates under the same logic of the regime in power. It’s been two days, and even a forensic doctor hasn’t come. Why are they glued to their chairs? This government has accumulated more dirt under it in the past six years than the previous one did in thirty years. It’s clear that holding onto their seats is a fight for survival for them. But it’s clear, isn't it, that they won’t last long? Even if this movement doesn’t succeed, the energy that's accumulating will one day explode. They too are temporary. It remains to see whether they will be removed before the country faces complete ruin or the establishment of police tyranny.”
