VIDEO: "So, you better sit down properly and don't speak to me in that tone" - Alexanyan
Today, I set a deadline for the opposition to publicly disclose all financial flows related to the opposition political movement by 16:00. This was stated by the member of parliament from the ruling party, Vahagn Alexanyan, during the announcements hour in the National Assembly.
He sequentially listed various points the opposition needs to clarify, for example, the expenses for the movement's stage, which costs $20,000 daily, the payments made to protesters, the costs of barbecued meat, and the expenses for firewood burned in the barbecue. He raised questions about the source of the funds concerning the money allocated to demonstrators, notably the $3000 distributed, stating that they will discuss that later.
“You have a clown over there in a skirt who has made insulting remarks about this childishness, but I won’t react. You start a movement and deny all day that everything is financed from abroad. However, those from abroad say, 'Hey, clowns, we have sent you hundreds of millions, why are you wasting that money?' You say it’s a lie; we say, very well dear people, you are our compatriots, let's trust you and not the Russian propagandists, but publish your financial flows – no, you won’t publish it,” he stated.
He then mentioned that when a journalist asked for comments, he replied, “I won’t comment” and insulted the journalist.
“I do not want to enter that miserable sphere where various characters survive, and since that deadline has passed and the disclosures have not been made, gentlemen opposition members, why did you consume the hundreds of millions mentioned by Igor Korotchenko? People sent money for you to create a revolution here; you are not insatiable, are you?” he questioned.
“Now I ask: why are you turning our country into an object of ridicule if you are taking hundreds of millions with the condition of staging a revolution? Then go ahead and make that revolution. There’s no need for the world to know that there are 'con artists' in Armenia who can take money for ten projects but do not deliver on any,” he concluded.
