On June 5, at 5:10 PM, police officers in Gegharkunik province stopped a Nissan vehicle while performing their duties on the Artsvavank-Vardenis road. The vehicle had not passed a technical inspection, its side windows were tinted, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and he was smoking.

According to the police, the 44-year-old driver from Gyumri, who was participating in the motorcade heading towards Gegharkunik, was presented with all the reasons for the vehicle's stop. However, he refused to acknowledge any violations, created a conflict situation, exhibited aggressive behavior, threatened police officers, and hurled insults at senior officials.

With reasonable suspicion of having committed an offense, he was arrested and taken to the Martuni police station. During a personal search, four tablets of the psychoactive medication Lorazepam were discovered in a polyethylene bag containing his personal belongings. The driver provided no explanation regarding these pills and only stated that he was exercising his right to remain silent.

The relevant documents have been sent to the Martuni investigative department. The circumstances are being clarified.
